The Beginnings

When our missionary team first arrived in the Philippines several years ago, God informed us of His desire for these native people to be involved in His business of perpetuating and building the Kingdom of God. There were many dreams and visions given in the course of time and with each reoccurring visit in regards to that intent. God was saying that He was going to use this land and this people to evangelize and spread the word of the Kingdom to Southeast Asia. As it was in World War II, the Philippine Islands were going to be something of a staging ground for that operation.

It was in the earlier part of 2011 that a team of us came to the Philippines to once again bring the Word of God to this land and to this people. In addition to an already-established fellowship in Butuan City, Mindanao Island, there was a new door opened to us in the providence of Lianga. For the first time in four years of our ministry, this word was going out beyond the walls of Butuan City. It has since been brought to our attention that the area in the providence of Lianga is under the siege of the Peoples Republic Army. This army is anti-democratic, anti-Filipino as well as anti-Christ and the insurgent action would prohibit us from being able to travel there to strengthen the brethren. That is the bad news, but the good news is that some of the brethren, who were located there, much like the church in Acts, are being dispersed to different places in the Philippines. They are now sharing with others the message of the Kingdom and opening up new doors.

In May 2011, we were able to minister to a new group in Quezon City, which is in the area called Manila Metro on Luzon Island. The presence of God was so strong, especially in the last meeting, that twelve people wanted to get baptized immediately; pretty much like the Ethiopian eunuch after hearing the Word of God. A barrel was provided, the people were baptized and a new Holy Place church was born.

The next steps led us to Cebu City on Cebu Island. Again, a new fellowship has been established in this place where people are hungry for the Word of God.

In addition to preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, we have been working with the local brethren helping the Filipino people to change the natural environment in which they live. A school for the indigent children in Butuan City is currently the largest project we are supporting. However, we are also working very intensely on establishing self-sufficiency programs throughout the islands in order to help local families.

The work in the Philippines has been growing fast. As the time of the end is approaching quickly, we believe God is stirring the hearts of His people in the Philippines in order to accomplish His purposes for this region. We feel very privileged to be part of it.
